Volunteers are the life blood of our Swim Club. Everyone from our coaches to our team manager, our social committee to our fundraisers, our chaperones to our webmaster, is a community or parent volunteer. It’s a lot of work.
It’s also one of the most rewarding and satisfying ways to spend your volunteer time!
Our swimmers are dedicated, competitive, and serious. They are also friendly, compassionate, and funny. The relationships they develop amongst themselves are as meaningful as those they find with their coaching staff.
If you are considering applying for a volunteer position with our team, please read through our Volunteer Brochure by clicking hereVolunteers Wanted Brochure. Then contact us to arrange a visit. Check us out. We’ve always got room for one more.
As of 2017, volunteers are expected to:
- successfully complete an interview with our coaching staff;
- provide at least two related, non-family references;
- provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check to be reviewed by both the Dundas Seahawks Swim Club and Special Olympics Ontario. Successful applicants will be reimbursed the cost of the Police Records Check by the team
- complete the Special Olympics Ontario Volunteer Registration (online). Click here to reach the information leading to that form. (Please indicate “Dundas Seahawks Swim Club” on the form to speed the application process.)
Our Team Manager can be reached through our Contact Page for further information.
