As many of us are aware, it takes a lot of money to run a successful swim team such as our Seahawks. Registration fees from our swimmers make up only a small portion of what we need. The rest comes from fundraising.
The Dundas Seahawks are thrilled to welcome Christina Mulder, one of the Event Coordinators from Roux Commercial Kitchen and Commissary to our team. Christina has been working with Mary over the past year, on our behalf, putting together a new event to help raise funds and support for our team.
“Saturday in the Park” promises to be a great family outing, featuring a variety of Hamilton’s finest food trucks, as well as booths hosted by local services and artisans. With the beautiful Dundas Driving Park as the backdrop, visitors will be able to have a bite to eat, stop at a wellness centre, speak with a pet groomer – bring your dog along for a manicure – or is that a pedicure? – and meet some of our swim team members.
Participating vendors will be making donations from the day directly to our team to help cover costs associated with pool and equipment rentals. And we’re hoping to introduce ourselves to the community, entice some new volunteer coaches, and invite some potential swimmers.
On September 27th, stop by, bring a friend along, and let’s all support our athletes!
